Marathon Training week 5 run 1
I set out on my first run of the week and the temperature was 94 degrees. This was at 8:30 at night! The heat is just brutal in the Midwest right now. It is certainly effecting my runs. The amount of water I lose on a run is just crazy. I don’t ever remember sweating as much as I have been lately. That is a good thing and the heat doesn’t really bother me that much other than the sweat pouring into my eyes. I ring out my headband about 6 times during a 5-6 mile run. I don’t have any problem breathing in this heat but it does wear you down quick. Times seem to be a little longer and the next day I feel a little more fatigued.
Monday was suppose to be a cross day but I did not get in a long run last week. I am going to be running this week according to what my body tells me. Next week I am on vacation so I am putting in a little extra work this week to get me through next week. I am not sure how much I will be able to run next week.
